We are looking for volunteers to join our County Programme Teams for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. No experience necessary, just enthusiasm and a willingness to ‘have a go’. Lots of fun and adventure to be had along the way. To make sure our teams can deliver high quality programmes and activities for our young people we would like support in each of the sections in the following roles:

Programme Support 

• Supporting the Assistant County Commissioners to ensure high quality programme ideas and support reach all our sections so that young people have access to excellent Scouting opportunities. 

• Highlight and share digital resources to improve programme planning. 

 

Communications 

• Supporting the Assistant County Commissioners and working with the County Marketing and Communications Manager to ensure all information and updates reaches those who need it in a timely manner. 

• Ensuring that all the website information for the relevant section is up to date. 

More information regarding the Communications role will be we published in the coming months.

 

The Chief Scout Award 

• Developing ways of increasing the number of top awards achieved in the section. 

• Promoting the achievement of the Chief Scout Award. 

• Devising ways of celebrating the achievement of the Chief Scout Award by our young people. 

• Promoting success across Hertfordshire. 

 

Event Planning 

• Developing exciting events for our young people 

• Ensuring the planning for events is all in place in a timely manner.  

• Ensuring that event teams are in place to deliver events.  

• Reviewing events with a Youth Shaped approach. 

 

General Duties 

• Undertaking any aspects of the sections work that do not fall within the other roles 

• Supporting specific one-off projects in the section 

• Supporting the other roles when more effort and energy is needed! 

 

Commitment for these roles is for six planning meetings per year and attendance at any events/activities that are relevant to the role. 

Event Support Team

We would also like a team of volunteers to work with our Event Support 6 – 14 Co-ordinator to provide support at our Beaver, Cub and Scout events throughout the year. Our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts have an exciting range of County events during the year and it would be great to have a team available to ensure these activities can take place successfully. Your commitment may be for just one event per year or you may want to undertake more activities with us.
